“I know that 5-star reviews look like hyperbole, but I don’t feel like anything else adequately captures our experience with Jim and Darlene.
It is better to be lucky than good, and we were truly lucky to wind up with Jim, our assigned realtor from our work relocation almost twelve years ago.
He ferried me to probably fifty houses, learning our quirky style, and eventually finding us a house that we loved and grew our family in for ten years. Note that we got to make an offer before the house went officially on the market – a coup in the heady real estate days of 2003 – because of a long-term professional relationship Jim and Darlene had nurtured with the seller.
Jim and Darlene kept in touch over the years, sending birthday presents and New Year’s wishes (including annual birthday presents for our son once he arrived on the scene!
Truly, though, I have never felt so lucky to have Jim and Darlene on our side as when we went to sell our house.
Another work relocation…And suddenly, the 15-year mortgage I’d pushed for meant that we needed to sell rather than try to rent out our beloved house. (As mentioned above. Lesson learned: listen to Jim and Darlene!)
The new job started immediately, leaving us attempting to stage and sell a house from afar. Jim and Darlene went so far above and beyond as to make the phrase silly, handling all negotiations, interactions with the relocation company (who were impressively inept, and Jim patiently tried to lead them through what they were supposed to be doing), and even scheduling and managing all repairs, inspections, etc. Basically, one day a check showed up in the mail…for quite a bit more than I had expected.
Buying and selling houses are huge financial decisions, but also, for most of us, significant emotional ones as well. Jim and Darlene are very skilled at handling all aspects of the experience.”
